one-day workshop
How does
this program work?
The leader training workshop uses the Families in Action for
Parents and/or Teens video and discussion program. You’ll
learn tips and techniques for leading family education courses
in general, plus you’ll  gain
an understanding of the contents and principles of both parts
of the program. (You can use both kits for groups of parents
+ teens, or one kit for teens alone.) This comprehensive parenting
& teen education workshop will help you teach:
- How parents & teens
can communicate effectively
- How the “method
of choice” can prevent power struggles
- How to get along better
- Types of family meetings
and why they’re important
- How to avoid problems
including drugs, alcohol, premature sex and violence
- What teens are experiencing
and their need for challenge
- Effective ways to
help parents discuss sexuality with teens
- How to teach positive
values to teens
