At Active Parenting Publishers, we provide many opportunities to train to be a more effective facilitator through our Leader Training Workshops. You can also step up and learn how to train other facilitators at the Training of Trainers seminars. See below for information about all the training options.

Earn Continuing Education (CE) credit
Active Parenting Publishers has been approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as an Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP) (No. 5192). Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Active Parenting Publishers is solely is responsible for all aspects of the program.
How to become a certified leader or trainer
Once you’ve attended the LTW, you can become an Active Parenting certified leader by holding your first complete Active Parenting class and sending us the evaluations from your class, along with your self-evaluation. When all steps are complete, we will certify you as an Active Parenting leader. For a description of the requirements for becoming a Certified Active Parenting Leader, click or contact the Training Manager at 800-825-0060 x3 for more information about certification.
Of course, you may continue to hold parenting classes even if you choose not to become certified.
Don’t see a workshop in your area?
If your organization has 12 or more people who need to be trained in one or more Active Parenting programs, we can send one of our national trainers to conduct a Special Leader Training Workshop (or Training of Trainers) for you. Click here for more information.

We are convinced you’ll leave your training workshop feeling informed and energized. If you are not satisfied for any reason, let us know and we’ll refund your fee. See below for terms of this guarantee.
- LTW / Webinar LTW / TOT (live classes, including leader training webinars): If you are not satisfied for any reason, let us know within 3 business days of your training date and we’ll refund your registration fee. Books, materials, and certificate must be returned in clean, resellable condititon, or $44.90 ($75 for TOT) will be deducted from your refund
- Online training: If you are not satisfied with your training, let us know within 3 business days of your initial login date and before printing your Certificate of Completion for a full refund of your registration fee
Training Cancellation Policy
Can’t make the training? Here are the policies if you need to cancel after registering:
- Live LTW: If you cancel at least 15 business days prior to the LTW, all but $25 will be refunded. Otherwise, a credit will be issued for future Active Parenting training or materials (less a $25 cancellation fee). Dates and locations are subject to change
- Webinar LTW: If you cancel at least 3 business days prior to the LTW, all but $25 will be refunded. Otherwise, a credit will be issued for future Active Parenting training or materials (less a $25 cancellation fee). Books must be returned in clean, resellable condition, or $44.90 will be deducted from your refund. Dates and times are subject to change
- TOT: If you cancel at least 15 days prior to the TOT, all but $100 will be refunded. Otherwise, a credit will be issued for future Active Parenting training or materials (less a $100 cancellation fee). Dates and locations are subject to change
- Online training: If you must cancel, let us know within 3 business days of your initial login date and before printing your Certificate of Completion for a full refund of your registration fee.
Need more time for your OLTW? You will have 60 days to complete your Online Training class. If you need more time, a reactivation fee of $49 will grant you another 60 days.
Need an OLTW refresher? Once you have completed an Online Training class, you may take the same Online Training class again at any time for $49.
