This Leader Training Workshop teaches you how to lead the new Christian Active Parenting video and discussion program. You’ll learn tips and techniques for leading parenting education courses in general, plus you’ll gain an understanding of the contents and principles of the program. This comprehensive workshop will teach you:
- Concrete skills to maintain and build open communication with children
- How the “method of choice” can prevent power struggles
- Introducing Bible reading to children
- How different styles of parenting affect how a child reacts
- How to present effective, nonviolent discipline skills guided by God’s love
- The five goals of a child’s behavior
- Caring for the caregiver, including quiet time with God
- Brain development in children and how it affects parenting decisions
- Roles parents can play in the prevention of alcohol abuse and other drug use
- How to teach positive values to children
- How to guide frustrated moms and dads to greater self-confidence in their roles as Christian parents
- Exploring Christian influences in their children’s lives
- How to increase parent engagement in school and in their children’s academic success
- How to promote and lead a successful parenting education class
