Active Parenting of Teens: Families in Action

Active Parenting of Teens: Families in Action Standard Kit

There’s no denying it. Parents and teens are often at odds, but it doesn’t have to be this way. When parents and teens learn together, they find common ground for conversation and problem solving. Provides a unique approach to strengthening our youth against the daily risks they face.

Bring parents & teens together to learn valuable life skills

A program for bringing parents and teens together…at last

There’s no denying it. Parents and teens are often at odds—but it doesn’t have to be that way. When parents and teens learn together, they will have a common language and skills for a smoother ride through adolescence.

The newly revised Active Parenting of Teens: Families in Action is for children ages 11-16 and their parents. Using this program, you will give families critical tools for the challenging teen years: communication, conflict resolution, encouragement, and more. Plus powerful information about preventing problems with drugs, alcohol, sex, and violence. Videoembedded PowerPoint available on Flash Drive or Streaming. Our Families in Action Streaming program includes Virtual Teaching Rights.

Combining entertaining video, group discussion, and activities, the program will teach both teens and parents how to:

  • Communicate without fighting
  • Work through power struggles
  • Understand each other’s goals
  • Avoid the scary risks of adolescence (including drugs, alcohol, sex and violence)
  • Enjoy the wonderful journey to adulthood—together

Three programs in one!

We’ve built in the flexibility you need to reach as many people as possible. Your new program kit can be used in three ways:

Testimonials/Media Reviews

Leader Testimonials

“Families in Action/Active Parenting of Teens will help these teenagers learn communication and behavioral skills that will make a difference in their family life and community relationships.”

Karen Tenneson
Upward Bound Counseling Coordinator, Luther College, Decorah, IA

“When parents come into the program (Families in Action/Active Parenting of Teens), they are closed up and think they are alone in the problems they are having with their child. But as we watch the videos and discuss the situations, the moms and dads start opening up. They begin looking at situations from other points of view and ultimately they grow and develop new ways of parenting their children.”

Linda Anson
Teen Court Administrator, 15th Judicial District, LA

“It has been a joy to facilitate Active Parenting of Teens... Just wanted you to know that this is one of the best parent programs I have seen and I think many parents will benefit...”

G. Marie Bryant
Prevention Educator, Behavioral Health Services of South Georgia

Parent Testimonials

“I have had several people ask me about my parenting skills. This is due to my wonderful daughter... This wasn’t always the case... I began experiencing problems that I wasn’t prepared to handle... I truly believe that implementing the techniques of your Active Parenting of Teens program saved both of us... I felt that I had the skills to deal with parenting a teen and that we had set a good foundation for mutual success... Thank you for your contribution to our success and happiness.”
